Self-leadership for young scientists

Master Stress, Build Confidence and Lead Yourself

As a PhD student, you're constantly juggling demanding projects, tightdeadlines, and expectations – not just from your professors, but often from yourself. The pressure can be overwhelming, leading to stress, self-doubt, and a feeling of being stuck. But what if you could take charge of your own response to stress, manage your “inner critic”, and trust your decisions? In this one-day workshop, you'll learn how to strengthen your self-leadership and cultivate a mindset that allows you to thrive in both your academic and personal life. With the right tools and strategies, you can take better control of your reactions, reduce stress, and regain confidence in your abilities.

Goals:

  • To recognize and understand personal reactions to stress and uncertainty
  • To reflect on the sources of stress and take responsibility for what is controllable
  • To identify and work with inner drivers and their impact on behavior
  • To increase self-awareness and self-management
  • To strengthen self-confidence and trust in one’s own abilities

Methods: teaching input, individual work, group work, self-tests, interactive discussions, and practical tools
